Sun is considered as the “Soul”; hence, in one’s horoscope if Sun is in a strong position then, the person will have a strong, influential personality.

Moon represents “Mind”; so, a weak moon in the horoscope indicated flickering & unstable mind. This may also indicated the person may be suffering from depression or, hyper-tension etc.

Similarly, we can derive results of other planets in a horoscope by knowing their respective governance over various aspects of human life.
Rahu & Ketu being the shadow planets; don’t influence any such aspect of human life.

Planets & Human relations

From the native’s horoscope, one can know various things about his/her relatives like father, mother etc.

This is possible because certain planets also represent certain human relation. For example -:

“Sun” represents “Father” and therefore, information about native’s father (like father’s health etc.) can be known by the placement of “Sun” in native’s horoscope. Similarly, “Moon” represents “Mother” etc.

In the below table (fig-10), Planets and their respective human relation is given.

 Planets & Tridoshas

“Tridoshas” can be understood as the tripod of life. They act as the balance factor and imbalance in any one of the “Tridoshas” can make a person sick.

The “Tridoshas” are -: Vat, Pitt & Kaph.

As the name suggest, “Vat” is related to make balance of air circulation in the body , “Kaph” is the thick fluids in body and its imbalance can give problems like cold , cough etc. and “Pitt” is related to thin fluids in body and its imbalance gives rise to problems including vomiting, high fever, urine problems etc.

{Details on “Tridoshas” will be covered in a separate article later}

In the below table (fig- 11); Planets and the “Tridosha” they represent is given.

If a planet is badly placed in the horoscope then, imbalance of its represented “Tridosha” can be seen (Especially, in the Dasha or, bhukti period of that planet) and similarly, if a planet is well placed in the horoscope, then the person is not likely to have the represented “Tridosha” of planet.

{All such details will be discussed in “Medical Astrology”}

Rahu-Ketu

In astrology, Rahu and Ketu are the north and south lunar nodes respectively. They denote the point of intersection of the paths of the sun and the moon as they move on the celestial sphere.

In Vedic astrology, Rahu and Ketu are two non-existent planets. Rahu represents the front portion of the snake’s body and Ketu represents the lower part. They can never exist together and are always apart from each other by 180°.

{But, In some higher divisional charts like D-20, D-60 etc.; Rahu-Ketu can co-exist in the same house and rashi.}

This is all about Planets and their representation in various ways in Vedic astrology.
